Group - Animatic

Animatic:

We constructed our animatic by hand drawing each frame and taking a high quality photo of it using our DSLR camera. We then took each image and edited the sequence in Da Vinci Resolve, matching it to our chosen track.

Our animatic differed from our animatic last year due to the fact that we storyboarded every single shot in our production. We felt like this was important, and had a positive impact on our final production as it meant we had a set plan at every shoot, knowing every single shot we had to shoot, including location, characters and framing.

We believe our animatic was structured well, detailing the entire narrative sequence of our production. We believe the main difference between the animatic of a music video and the storyboarding of a film, is the fast cutting rate and continuous cutting between too parallel lines of action. This difference mainly comes about due to the lack of dialogue in a music video, meaning that frequent cutting between different lines isn't too disjunctive/ doesn't effect the narratives flow negatively.
