HS - Digipak Analysis
- The first thing I noticed when I saw this Digipak was the bright, bold yellow font. Firstly, this font stands out strongly against the monotone background. This captures the attention of viewers very effectively.
- I also think that the bold font and bright colours reflect on the style of music the artist produces. Chase And Status produce Drum and Bass music which is a very loud and exciting genre of music and the bright yellow connotes excitement, especially in contrast to the dark background.
- I also believe the style of music could be reflected through the dog on the album cover. The dog pictured is a Bulldog. The dominant ideology is that Bulldogs are strong and aggressive, similar to the music that Chase And Status produce, as it is loud and fast-paced.
- The title, "No More Idols", has a sense of irreverence, as they are suggesting that they do not look up to anybody, they have no idols. This could appeal to audiences as listening to this music may give them a sense of empowerment as they believe they do not have to look up to anybody and that there is nobody better than them.
